⦁ Gameplay Each player is dealt two cards, face up or down depending on the casino's rules. The dealer also receives two cards, one face up and one face down. If the dealer's face up card is an ace, players have the option to take insurance. Players can choose to "hit" and receive additional cards in an attempt to improve their hand. Players can continue to hit until they are satisfied with their hand or they exceed 21 and "bust." Players can also choose to "stand" and keep their current hand total. Once all players have completed their turn, the dealer reveals their face down card and hits until their hand total is at least 17.

⦁ Winning and Losing If a player's hand exceeds 21, they automatically lose. If a player's hand total is lower than the dealer's or the dealer busts, the player loses. If the player's hand total is higher than the dealer's and does not exceed 21, the player wins. If the player and dealer have the same hand total, it is a push and the player's bet is returned.

⦁ Additional Rules There are a few additional rules that may be applied, depending on the casino or table rules. For example, some tables may allow players to "split" pairs of cards into separate hands, while others may not. Some tables may also allow players to "double down" and receive one additional card, while others may not.
